Tommy Two Tones Story Competition
Wacky is helping to support a great competition for new children's character, "Tommy Two Tones the Friendly Ambulance".
Created by Mr Eric Lyttle, a former ambulance-man who has now retired from Greater Manchester ambulance service, Tommy Two Tones is a talking ambulance who, with his paramedic crew, Ken and Kirsty and many other friends, including the Fire and Police services, lives in a fictitious town of Puddleditch, where they have the most amazing adventures, as well as attending emergencies.
By way of introducing Tommy Two Tones to children, Wacky is helping to launch a competition under the heading of "Tommy Two Tones-Operation Next Generation", which is being supported by W H Smiths Charitable Trust. Open to 5-8 year olds, children have the opportunity to develop a new storyline for a Tommy Two Tones Book, which will then be written by the author, Eric Lyttle. The story can be as imaginative as children like and can even introduce new characters, which will be used in two books (one from each age group – 5 – 6 year olds and 7 – 8 year olds) and which will then be published as first prize.
Twelve pence from the proceeds of each sale of each winning book will go to the child's school and a further twelve pence to a charity of choice. In addition, the winning child's name will be on the front cover of the book, alongside the author's name.
Simply pick up an entry form from any Wacky until 11 July.
